a Taylored Approach

2/19/2017 Creating & Cultivating in ATLA few thoughts during Create & Cultivate's conference at a time in my career when I needed some mega inspiration. Their message in empowering women with a creative and entrepreneurial spirit was just what I needed. The fearless Girl Boss in me was craving a day filled with amazing speakers and even better, a getaway to ATL which I had never been to before. You could say the timing was right as I was able to combine store visits (thank you Banana!) with the opportunity of attending the C&C Conference last October. The icing on the cake, traveling with a coworker and friend who not only shared the same past life of working in retail stores but who was also looking for much needed advice as we were expanding our career horizons. It was a jam-packed itinerary and a weekend filled with passion, people and possibility. I was overwhelmed with the amount of material we absorbed in two days. The conference venue was not only an Instagram dream but a safe space with incredible content. A few of my favorite ladies in attendance included Courtney Kerr and Nicole Richie. My inner Girl Boss was freaking out! We were able to spend 30 minutes with Courtney and I was taken aback by how authentic she was and her #nofiltered opinions of not only the blogger space but retail environment were spot on. Another 30 minutes was spent with The Beckerman Twins, who's carefree attitudes and ability to not overthink, whether it be in a Snapchat post or a head to toe frock complete with animated characters, made me realize how seriously I took myself and needed to take a chance; hello a Taylored Approach! The highlight of the day was the keynotes speakers; Meghan Markle, who little did I know later would be Prince William's arm candy and Nicole Richie, who I hate to admit, I first fell in love in the Simple Life series. For an inspiration pick me up, watch their keynotes here. If you ever have the chance to attend Create & Cultivate, take it! Even if it's listening to someone who isn't in the same field as you or doesn't share the same interests, you can take any nugget of advice and use it to better your Girl Boss babe self. And lastly, I'll leave you on this rainy Sunday with my favorite quote: "Be yourself, see what happens." Challenge Accepted. Comments are closed.
