Don't Be A Prick

The cure when you're feeling mentally exhausted... a rainbow colored getaway!  I am a sucker for cacti, printed wallpaper... anything colorful and cheeky; hence the blog title.  Here to help, the Saguaro.  My gfs and I decided the rainbow mecca was the perfect getaway.  If I could have, I would have taken the cactus painting and pink succulent home with me.  Even, those brown patio chairs for an outdoor space I don't currently own... but a girl can dream.    

And just when you think the colorful pops are over, you head poolside and are welcomed with a beautiful view of the mountains and rainbows.  Luckily, we came prepared for poolside photos ops and our sips were fully decked.  Flamingos, of course, and pineapples in my strawberry slushy for the first day were a must.  Add a side of candid photo ops.  We were set.  Thank you Tammy! 

It's amazing what a few days away can do for the mind when you're totally tapped.  The past month was a work whirlwind!  I am fortunate to have a job I absolutely love, where I care about too many things a bit too much and let them get to me because I am really passionate about them.  Let's just say when it comes to the work side of TC, I tend to wear my emotions on my sleeve and let my opinions out there. Something I was not confident in doing until my move to corporate life 4 years ago.  It's funny when I read back to my first blog post, I put a stake in the ground that the personal side was going to catch up this year.  While it definitely has, it's a balancing act with my career that I am still struggling with.  Having a glass or two of vino during the week coupled with my new favorite pastime of writing has definitely helped. 

​More to come on our PS getaway including a beach cruiser photoshoot in a knee length sequin jacket at that pink door.  Yes, I packed the 5 pound thing for a photo op and it was a dream come true.  I even learned who Blanche was so maybe this long weekend will include indulging in a few episodes of Golden Girls to connect with my alter ego.
