a Taylored Approach

9/14/2017 La La PinksIt's no secret I have slight adoration for the color pink. It's happy. It's peppy. It's you guessed it... cheeky. It's one of those ironic things in life where you notice something because you are looking for it. There were so many pops of delight in my long weekend away in LA. From my puckered sequin jacket which had the perfect palm print backdrop to pink chairs at a rooftop bar, there was no shortage of this happy hue. Driving to the Griffith through neighborhoods in West Hollywood, there it was. A pink palace and what's funny is it matches so perfectly with the chairs I saw at EP & LP. The shudders mirror the minty green seats. Coincidence. Maybe Happenstance, my favorite word. But nonetheless, fun moments as I add mint to the future home decor list. This combination is gold. No trip is without a pink drink. After our Zara heron hunt success, we sat for a refreshing afternoon in Huntington Beach hopping from a rooftop scene to a Mexican joint. The definite foodie theme of the weekend as I can never resist a good margarita or chips + guacamole. It's really a basic food group. So a Strawberry marg it was and oh the color, just delightful and tied in perfectly to the second theme of my venture. Pink flashes of delight. And lastly, this glimpse of pink as there can always be a story behind a picture. I had never been to Venice Beach or Abbot Kinney and fell in love with the hunt of wall murals. I knew I wanted a shot of the V-E-N-I-C-E sign. No pressure. My strategy lately is the less I try in my snapping opps, the better I like the shot and this one was no exception. Just add a few challenges. 1) a diagonal crosswalk, 2) 20 seconds until the light changes and 3) one TC who is quite the perfectionist. You really don't get that many chances for a perfect snap. Another photog moment that totally surprised me as the ombre sky and balance of the lettering is #goals. So much so, I might rotate the prints in my house to accommodate this beauty and add some change to my place. I figured why not create what you can't find to buy. Add solid white frames. It's clean, simple and makes me happy in my home. Hope your week has been filled with lots of colorful drinks (yes, rosé counts!) or a themed moment. And if it hasn't, pick one, walk the streets of SF or wherever home is and I guarantee it will pop out at you. Like anything in life, be patient. Things can come together when you least expect it.
